The BallPool story started on April 20, 1994, with the introduction of the world's first machine specifically engineered for cleaning ball pit balls. Van Veen Design's breakthrough solution transformed playground hygiene expectations, with the BallPool machine achieving cleaning rates of up to 15 000 balls per hour.

Van Veen Design is a Dutch enterprise founded on innovation and engineering excellence. The company's core mission was to develop a system that would clean ball pit play balls quickly, efficiently, and hygienically – delivering Dutch quality with industrial-grade dependability.

Over the years, BallPool established itself as the international leader in air-flow based ball cleaning technology. The machines were specifically engineered to meet leisure industry requirements, prioritizing maximum hygiene and reliability.

In 2020, BallPool formed a strategic partnership with Euro-Matic Ltd., Europe's premier manufacturer of premium playpen balls. This collaboration was a natural fit: Euro-Matic delivers the highest quality standards in ball pit ball manufacturing, while BallPool ensures optimal cleanliness – creating a complete solution for indoor playgrounds and leisure facilities.

In 2023 September, Euro-Matic Ltd. acquired the BallPool brand, marking the beginning of a new chapter.

Euro-Matic's history began in Denmark in 1965, then moved all production to Budapest in 2006. Since 2014, we have operated as a 100% Hungarian-owned company, continuously expanding our manufacturing capacity ever since.

Our play balls – millions of which are produced annually – are used worldwide: in indoor playgrounds, therapeutic facilities, and events.

From 2025, the ball cleaning system continues operating under the Pure-Matic name, with renewed branding, technology, and commitment to clean play experiences. The Pure-Matic brand name guarantees hygienic play experiences and premium quality.
